A healthy well balanced soil is the key ingredient in producing healthy nutritious fresh produce.  Products grown on high quality farms in the right location at the right time of year with consistent water sources yield premium produce with the best shelf life and flavor profiles.  We strive to be as efficient with our farming methods as possible by following specific techniques.  

Our conservative farming practices include:

  • Lab testing soil to confirm nutrients and essential minerals are in place
  • Rotating among different crops to maintain healthy soil
  • Adding nutrients, minerals and compost as needed to maintain proper balance
  • Applying techniques learned from organic farming
  • Utilizing a close partnership with our in-house agronomist and growers to interpret lab results 
  • Drip irrigation for targeted application and conservation of water
  • Investing and maintaining efficient wells and water systems
  • Leveling land with GPS to make sure water is used efficiently and evenly among crops

In operating our business, we continually look for innovative methods to improve efficiency and use of limited resources.  

Our conservation methods across the scope of our company include:

Energy Use

  • Replaced existing lighting at multiple company locations with high efficiency lighting and motion sensors
  • Averaging a 46% reduction in energy usage
  • New employee housing built with energy saving LED lighting reducing energy consumption by 75%
  • Annual reduction of 808 tons of CO2 gases

  • These extended life cycle rental crates are used in a closed loop pooling system and are 100% recyclable

  • 65% lower water consumption
  • 85% less solid waste
  • 34% lower energy demand



  • Rental pallets are also used in a closed loop pooling system, have an extended life cycle and are reused and recycled
  • Avoids generating over 250 tons of solid waste
  • Reduces 200 tons of CO2 gases


Plastic Retail Packaging

  • All packaging is designed to minimize the amount of material needed to achieve required packaging performance
  • Materials are recyclable and our packaging contains a blend of both post-industrial and post-consumer recycled plastic resulting in lower greenhouse gas emissions and less solid waste
