Traveling Payroll Technician

The Role: In this role, you will work within our Human Resources department and be a full time Traveling Payroll Technician. The primary work location will be in Salinas, California. However, this position will require you to relocate between our harvesting operations: Tres Picos, California and Yuma, Arizona. You will verify and manually calculate a variety of daily payroll records for accuracy, enter in our payroll system and process paychecks. This requires you to work closely with multiple operations in order to pay employees correctly and on time. Excellent attention to detail, sense of urgency and be process driven are critical in this role.

Location: Salinas, CA, traveling to Tres Picos, CA and Yuma, AZ


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Verify accuracy in daily harvest production crew roster, breakdown, timecards and other payroll records 
  • Manually verify payroll reports for data entry accuracy 
  • Download employee hours from Kronos System and ensures hours are accurately in JD Edwards System 
  • Process, print, sort and organize weekly paychecks for distribution 
  • File and scan payroll records after weekly paychecks for distribution 
  • Must be able to relocate to Salinas and Tres Picos, California and Yuma, Arizona 
  • Work schedule includes early and / or late hours
  • May require working outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays 


  • An Associates of Arts (i.e., AA) Degree or two years of payroll experience 
  • Must be bi-lingual and bi-literate in English/ Spanish 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, able to troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly in Excel and Word)
  • Experience in Enterprise One, Kronos, Showcase Query and IBM Notes
