Location: Salinas, CA
Pay Range: $28.85 to $36.06 per hour
The Role: Join our dynamic accounting team and become an integral part of our employee-owned company’s growth and success. Reporting to our Assistant Controller, you will assume responsibility for timely and precise reconciliations, in-depth research, journal entries, and ad hoc analysis/reporting. This role will provide cross-training opportunities across various areas, allowing you to expand your accounting expertise and gain a deeper understanding of our business operations. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with acute attention to detail who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute timely and accurate financial reconciliations.
- Conduct in-depth research to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Collaborate on ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects.
- Participate in cross-functional training to broaden accounting knowledge.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to support departmental goals and initiatives.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a “can-do” attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective cross-functional interactions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Excel, ranging from intermediate to advanced.
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar financial software is advantageous.
Education and Licensing:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Continuing education in accounting and finance to stay current with industry standards and regulations.
