Green Leaf lettuce has an elongated v-shaped frame, with leaves that branch from a single stalk in a loose bunch, rather than forming a tight head.

Wrapped green leaf, a Tanimura & Antle exclusive, is the premium pack of head leaf lettuce in the marketplace today. It is harvested using our proprietary field-wrap packing process to maintain peak freshness at the optimum point of harvest.

Selection Tips:
Green leaf lettuce should appear fresh and crisp, with even-colored, light green leaves.

Storage Tips:
Store leaf lettuce in the crisper or produce drawer of the refrigerator. Wash right before eating. Store away from ethylene-producing fruits to avoid discoloration, spotting or decay. Wash right before eating.

  • Wash Tanimura & Antle green leaf lettuce with cold running water and place in salad spinner or colander to drain. Pat dry before use.

Additional Storage Information:
Ideal Storage Temperature: 34° -36° F/90-95% relative humidity. Refrigerate green leaf lettuce immediately after receiving. Store in area with good circulation and away from ethylene-producing fruits to minimize russeting. Sprinkle lightly during storage to help maintain freshness. First in/first out rotation.

  • Make it gourmet with lettuce wraps! Use favorite fillings - stir-fry, chicken salad, taco beef or fresh vegetables.
  • Cross-merchandise with bottled Asian stir-fry sauce and sesame seeds or taco seasoning and ground beef.

Safe Produce Handling Suggestions:

  1. Refrigerate produce as soon as possible after purchasing. Refrigerate cut or chopped produce within two hours of peeling or cutting. Once cut, leftover produce should be discarded if left at room temperature for more than two hours.
  2. Wash hands with hot soapy water before and after handling fresh produce, as well as after using the bathroom, changing diapers, or handling pets.
  3. Wash all vegetables with cool tap water immediately before eating. Don't use soap or detergents. Cut away any bruised or damaged areas before eating.
