We partner with the Monterey County Office of Education MCOE) Migrant Education Program to offer a full-service Child Development Center on our Salinas facility.  The Center offers preschool and childcare services for the children of our harvest employees, but not exclusively.  These services are open to all families meeting MCOE program participant criteria.  Tanimura & Antle employees volunteer to read to the children on a weekly basis, and the company continues to make additional donations to the Center, which has included playground equipment and grass sod for the playground.

For the past decade, Tanimura & Antle has partnered with the Salinas Valley Salvation Army to bring wholesome and nutritious fresh produce to Salinas Valley families during the winter holiday season.  In addition to the donation of fresh fruits and vegetables for the meal baskets, Tanimura & Antle also shares the use of one of our coolers for the necessary refrigeration of donated food which serves as a distribution center for this Salvation Army’s holiday program.

Through involvement in the American Cancer Society annual Relay For Life fundraising event, Tanimura & Antle has cumulatively raised over $893,000 for cancer research. Company leadership encourages Tanimura & Antle employees to form a fundraising and cancer education awareness committee that plans and implements fundraising luncheons and education events, open to all employees.

The Tanimura & Antle Family Memorial Library - California State University, Monterey Bay

The Tanimura and Antle families were honored to provide the funds necessary to begin the fundraising process for the construction of a state-of-the-art library at the campus of California State University, Monterey Bay.  The library, currently under construction, will be built using sustainable and efficient building practices.  Tanimura & Antle is dedicated to supporting youth and education in our growing regions, and regularly supports educational fundraising efforts from preschools through high schools.

Acting as a clearinghouse for surplus produce grown in the Salinas Valley, Ag Against Hunger is dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing a link between the agricultural community and food assistance organizations. Tanimura & Antle is a long-time supporter of Ag Against Hunger, and regularly donates fresh produce to help this non-profit fulfill its mission.

The California Rodeo, Salinas

Recognizing that every location has a unique cultural identity, Tanimura & Antle has been a proud supporter of our western heritage through our involvement with the California Rodeo in Salinas.  The California Rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Rodeo, and is one of the three largest rodeos in the entire world.  Tanimura & Antle is the sole sponsor of the Special Buckaroos Rodeo, held in conjunction with the performance.  The Special Buckaroos Rodeo is a unique event held for special needs children.  Each child is partnered with a PRCA cowboy, and they experience and participate in a number of simulated rodeo events, with each child winning a rodeo trophy, along with a cowboy hat, neckerchief, T-shirt, and lunchbox filled with prizes.
